Honesty and fairness are a part of The DēsL Group, and that holds true with our contract policies. Every client relationship we engage in is done so with a basic contractual agreement. We have two main contracts: project work and retainer agreements. If you are unfamiliar with either pricing structure, please refer back to our pricing page for more information. For retainers, the contracts are based on the agreed variables particular to each client’s needs, so any summary of what to expect would be difficult. Instead, we’ll focus on the projects contract, which is a good indication of what to expect with the retainer version.

With a project contract, the structure is very simple. We provide costs associated with each project, outline the details, provide a basic timeline for completion, and that’s it. We do require a signature from our client to ensure both parties agree to the fees and terms, however no other complexities are involved. The contract is enforced to benefit both the client, and us, and we adhere to that agreement. In fact, there are two critical benefits that we provide our clients through those contracts:

1. The Client OWNS What They Pay For
We have personally been witness to agencies that did not enforce contracts, claiming they didn’t believe in them. What they were actually doing is ensuring that they owned all work they produced, even AFTER their clients paid in full. That’s right; through basic copyright law, unless an agency contractually agrees to pass ownership of the creative works to the client, the agency maintains ownership. Sneaky business, and not the way DēsL operates. In our contracts, we state that once the client pays for the work in full, it is theirs to do with as they please. Seems like simple ethical decency, however not all agencies believe in the same principles.

2. The Price Quoted Is The Price Paid
Another interesting occurrence among some of our professional counterparts is the practice of exceeding the originally quoted price. They will do so by adding in fees for extra revisions, phone calls or meetings, office supplies, or archive charges. Our policy is simple: the price we quote is done so with plenty of thought and experience, so we don’t deviate from that cost. Everything is included - ALL revisions, office supplies, meetings and phone calls - all of it. And if we exceed the time we originally estimated, that means we didn’t do our jobs right... and the price still stays.

The way we operate our agency is something we are very proud of. We will always be as up-front as we can with every client we work with, and we will treat them as we would expect to be treated. It’s a timeless philosophy that we will always follow.
